Maluku BKSDA Receives Translocation Of 15 Wildlifes From Central Java

The Maluku Province Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) received a translocation of 15 wild animals protected from the Central Java BKSDA.

The 15 wildlife consists of 10 Maluku cockatoos, four Tanimbar cockatoos and one Maluku Nuri. "We have received a translocation of protected wildlife species of birds all from the Central Java BKSDA," said the Maluku BKSDA Forest Police (Polhut), Seto, in Ambon, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 31.

He said the birds were the result of being confiscated and handed over from officers who occurred in the working area of the Central Java KSDA Center.

"These are mostly the animals resulting from the submission of the community and the findings of officers in Central Java. Only coaching is carried out for owners," said Seto. This was done before the birds were released into their natural habitat, "he said.

Good people who already have, or who intend to capture and maintain protected animals in Indonesia, especially Maluku, are asked to hand over the animal to the authorities.

It is known, based on the provisions of Law no. 5 of 1990 concerning Conservation of Biological Natural Resources and their Ecosystems that,

Anyone who deliberately catches, injures, kills, keeps, owns, maintains, transports, and trades protected animals alive; (Article 21 paragraph (2) letter a), is threatened with a maximum imprisonment of five years and a maximum fine of Rp. 100 million (Article 40 paragraph (2).
