Warehouse Fire In Darmasaba Badung Kills 9-Year-Old Boy

Police evacuated the body of Ketut Sukawitama (9) who was trapped in the rubble during a fire at home as well as the UD Sumber Rejeki Warehouse on Jalan Denpasar-Darsamaba, Badung/ANTARA/HO-Humas Badung Police.

Badung Police said the fire at UD Sumber Rejeki Warehouse on Jalan Denpasar-DaRMasaba, Abiansemal District, Badung, Bali, killed a 9-year-old boy named Ketut Sukawitama.

The UD Sumber Rejeki warehouse is a place of business owned by Kadek Budi Adnyana (55) which is engaged in the manufacture of rebuttals (pRAY places for Hindus) made of sand and wood.

The warehouse was hand in hand with the house so that the fire from the warehouse also spread to the house.

According to witness I Gede Merta, (29) a worker who lives in the UD Sumber Rejeki Warehouse, Jalan Raya Darmasaba, at around 07.00 WITA, the witness felt hot while in a room covered with zinc.

The witness, who felt hot, then came out of the room and saw that the fire was already big in the easternmost room, room number 1.

The witness shouted for help. Another witness, Kadek Budi Adnyana, woke up from sleep and immediately ran forward because the fire was already big. Witness Kadek Budi Adnyana wants to help his son KS who is still asleep in room number two, but it can't be done because of a big fire.

Meanwhile, witness Gede Marta did not know that the victim KS was in the room and it was estimated that the victim and her mother were in the market.

According to Sudana, at 08.30 WITA, the Badung Regency fire department arrived at the location contacted by SPKT of the Abiansemal Police, who first received news about the incident. The fire was successfully extinguished after six units of the Badung Damkar carried out the extinguishing process.

The warehouse, which is also the house, consists of four L-shaped rooms made of wood and plywood and zinc roofs.

In addition to causing casualties, the fire also caused material losses in the form of a burning of a house and warehouse building, one Xenia car, three motorbikes.

"The total material loss cannot be ascertained," said Sudana.

Sudana said the cause of the fire was still being investigated by the Badung Police Inafis.
