Emban Duties Handling Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Minister Of Religion Yaqut Be Careful

TANGERANG - Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas explained that he was still waiting for directions from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD regarding the delegation of duties related to the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes).

"The handling sector Leading is in the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Mahfud MD). And we will receive the delegation of what kind of task is given to us," Yaqut told reporters, Thursday, July 27.

Yaqut revealed that the handling of this case must be full of caution. However, he said that his party would focus on students at the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School.

"Later, if it is related to Islamic boarding schools, the most important thing in the view of the Ministry of Religion is the right of students and students there to keep learning. That's what we will protect. The rest, other related policies outside the Ministry of Religion," he concluded.

For information, the government did not revoke the permit for the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), West Java with various considerations.

"We have not decided on anything like that (revocational of the boarding school permit)," said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD at the Vice Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 4.

Mahfud admitted that the government had discussed the potential for revocation of permits. However, the results of the discussion did not reach the decision to revoke the permit.

The former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) also responded to a suggestion from the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil (Kang Emil). He had encouraged Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School permits to be frozen.

"We accommodate it first. As good input because he knows in the regions and in the West Java field," said Mahfud.

Even so, the government looks further and thoroughly. Mahfud does not want the suspension of Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School with bad implications in other areas.
