Director Of NTB Hospital Denies Dismissal Of A Doctor Regarding His Relationship

Fhirzhal Arzhi Jiwantara as the attorney for the Director of the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, dr. Then Herman Mahaputra clarified the accusation of a love motive behind the dismissal of a doctor with the initials UI at the hospital.

"Regarding that there is a love relationship between doctor UI and the President Director, it is not true. That is a false suspicion, because it does not match the facts," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 24.

He said that according to his client, the doctor's dismissal on July 4, 2023 was carried out based on the needs of human resources at the NTB Hospital.

"Because the 2018 NTB Hospital cooperated with the Faculty of Medicine Unram (Universitas Mataram), Unram sent UI doctors to be assisted at the NTB Hospital," he said.

"Initially there was a cooperative relationship between the hospital and the Faculty of Medicine Unram, so the change depended on the needs of the hospital. So it was replaced not because of a romantic relationship," he explained.

He said that three NTB Regional Hospital employees were dismissed, including a doctor with the initials UI. However, only UI doctors objected to his dismissal.

According to Fhirzhal, the hospital manager has responded to the summons submitted by the UI doctor.

He reiterated that the conversation showing a romantic relationship between his client and doctor UI was incorrect and his client would take legal action because the accusation had defamed his client as Director of the NTB Hospital and his family.

"We will take legal action because it damaged the good name of our client, because such things must be proven by facts and data," he said.

A doctor with the initials UI who was dismissed from the NTB Hospital submitted a summons because he considered his dismissal related to his love affair with the hospital leader.

"He promised to marry, but when it was widely discussed in his work environment instead of getting married, he was instead dismissed from his position," said UI doctor's attorney, Sapto Dewi T.

He stated that the UI doctor was originally assigned to the NTB Hospital as a part-time specialist based on a hospital cooperation agreement with Unram in 2018 which was renewed in 2022.

In 2021, the new director of the hospital will create a new specialist subunit service to support hospital services.

"So far, the new sub-unit has not been in the hospital, and the new sub-unit is based on my client's ideas and initiatives," said Sapto.

He revealed that his client's relationship with the hospital director began when his client submitted a report to the hospital director's room.

"My client was asked about personal matters, such as whether he was married and had a hobby," he said.

According to him, his client was then invited to leave outside of work hours.

"At that time, after breaking the fast during the 2021 fasting month. At a time when it was still the atmosphere of COVID-19. At first, my client refused to be invited to do something that was suspected of being'strange' in the car he was driving," he said.

"That's where it was suspected that the wrong intentions had started. So there were things that were allegedly inappropriate that happened at that time. But my client refused," he explained.

However, according to him, his client was gradually willing to establish a relationship with the hospital director.

"So the romance started from April to November 2021. I saw evidence of chatting around it. So this is suspected to be not an ordinary romance, but an extraordinary romance is suspected because there are further allegations of a relationship," he said.

"The person concerned wants to marry our client," he said.

However, he explained, the relationship between the two then became a conversation in the work environment and it was feared that it would affect hospital leaders.

"He was suspected of slowly avoiding. Until my client met his wife and asked permission to become his second wife. But his wife refused," he said.

"And at that time my client was scolded completely and since then my client has never been contacted again and my client's number has been blocked," he added.

He conveyed that his client was then respectfully dismissed from his duties on July 4, 2023.

"The goal was so that he would no longer meet my client. This is an allegation of arbitrariness and is not accompanied by rational considerations about his profession or personality," he said.

According to him, his client has submitted a summons to the hospital leadership regarding his dismissal.

"However, the two summons sent were never responded to. Because there was no response, we will take legal action by suing the Dismissal Decree to the Administrative Court," he said.

In addition to submitting the lawsuit to the Administrative Court, he continued, his client will report the hospital leader to the NTB Regional Police.
