JAKARTA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was discharged from the hospital on Sunday, having previously been rushed to the hospital due to dehydration due to the heat wave, with doctors having time to install cardiac monitors.

Prime Minister Netanyahu, 73, was rushed to the Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer on Saturday, near his private residence on the coast of Caesarea, and is being treated under observation.

His convoy of cars was seen leaving Sheba as Israeli media quoted his office as saying PM Netanyahu had been allowed to leave the hospital.

Amit Segev, director of the cardiology unit at Sheba, said PM Netanyahu was equipped with a heart monitor while in the hospital. Segev said tests showed PM Netanyahu's heart was normal and found no cardiac arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat.

"Prime Minister Netanyahu has completed a series of tests and is in very good condition," Segev said, as quoted by CNN.

Earlier, the Israeli leader's office said in a statement PM Netanyahu had complained of "mild dizziness" before he was rushed home.

In a video statement released late Saturday, PM Netanyahu said he was dehydrated, advising people to drink more water.

"Yesterday, I spent time with my wife on the Sea of ​​Galilee, in the sun, no hat, no water. Not a good idea," said PM Netanyahu.

"So first of all I want to thank you all for your concern and also to the amazing team here at Sheba who checked me out," he continued.

"Thank God, I feel very well, but I have only one request from you: we are having a heatwave in the countryside, so I ask you, put less sun and drink more water and let's all have a good weekend, asked Prime Minister Netanyahu.

As a result, a cabinet meeting originally scheduled for Sunday was postponed to Monday, Prime Minister Netanyahu's office said.
