Procurement Of Water Gas Devices Of IDR 49 Billion, Police Call It According To Provisions

JAKARTA - The National Police procured tear gas equipment worth IDR 49 billion. This is in accordance with existing regulations.

Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Pol. Ahmad Ramadhan said the procurement of 1,857 units of the pepper projectile launch weapon was in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 12 of 2021 concerning the Procurement of Goods or Government Services which was broadcast through the LPSE Polri.

"The procurement process is in accordance with the provisions, I repeat the process of procuring the goods conveyed according to the provisions," Ramadhan said, quoting Antara.

According to him, the National Police allocated Rp17.46 billion in funds for 1,857 units of pepper projectile launche weapons. If calculated, one weapon is worth Rp9.4 million.

"The National Police is carrying out the procurement of a pepper projectile launcher with a budget source for the 2022 State Budget as part of the program to modernize the almatsus and Polri infrastructure," he said.

The budget is also used for other equipment worth IDR 32.39 billion. Consisting of extra magazine, pocket holders, ammunition, pepper powder and tear gas.

Ramadhan emphasized that the payment for the procurement had been carried out in accordance with the existing contract of more than Rp49 billion.

"There is no overpayment for the procurement activities. All work has been completed on August 23, 2022," said Ramadhan.

Ramadhan also explained regarding the data input error which is a record of Indonesia Corruption Wakth (ICW), related to the overpayment made by the Police in the procurement.

He explained that the overpayment occurred because there was an error in inputting data that should have been 1,857 units inputted by 187 units. "Well, that's it, so there is news of overpayment," he said.

So he said, the figure of 1,857 was multiplied by the price mentioned earlier so that the real number was obtained. Because the data input error occurred, the difference was very significant from 1,857 to 187 units.

"This is an input error in the 'ruption' (public plan information system) for the procurement of the LKPP SIRUP. So the problem is when people say that the overpayment is due to the difference between 1,857 and 187, which is clear that the implementation is in accordance with 1,857, not 187," said Ramadhan.

The 1,857 pepper projectile launch weapons were allocated to Polda Metro Jaya personnel.
