BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Special Criminal Investigation Team (Pidsus) confiscated a number of documents related to the corruption case in the construction of hajj dormitories in 2020.
The Head of Investigation at the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office, Danang Prasetyo, explained that the confiscation of a number of documents was carried out during a search at the Bengkulu Provincial Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Office and the Hajj dormitory until Thursday (13/7) night.
"The search and confiscation was carried out to synchronize the data that had been submitted by the Bengkulu Ministry some time ago, as well as to look for evidence that had not been found and also to check the condition of the Hajj dormitory building," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 14.
Previously, the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office received money deposited from a contract-breaking contractor in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Hajj dormitory in 2020, namely PT Bahana Krida Nusantara.
Danang explained that the Rp450 million was a difference in the realization of physical development before the contractor broke the contract with the money that had been paid.
"We are still calculating the state losses, but from PT Bahana there is good faith in entrusting this money, we accept it," he said.
However, the investigative team will continue to investigate and deposit the money does not mean that it will eliminate the criminal acts of corruption that have occurred.
