Muna Regent Becomes Suspect Alleged Bribery In PEN Fund Management

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has developed a bribery case for managing National Economic Recovery (PEN) loans at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) in 2021-2022. There are two new suspects, including Muna Regent, Southeast Sulawesi, La Ode Muhammad Rusman Emba.

"The party who has been named a suspect in giving bribes is one of the regional heads in Southeast Sulawesi and a private party," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Wednesday, July 12.

Ali has not yet detailed the identities of these suspects. However, Rusman is suspected of being a suspect along with the Chairman of the Gerindra Party Branch Leadership Council (DPC) La Ode Gomberto because both of them have been prevented from leaving the country.

The determination of the two as suspects is the development of the case of a former Ministry of Home Affairs official, Ardian Noervianto. "When the collection of evidence has been sufficient and the detention is carried out, then that is when we will convey it to the public," he said.

Ali ensured that the evidence was ongoing. Most recently, investigators searched Muna Regency Office and the suspect's house in this case and found evidence in the form of documents and electronic devices.

Then, the investigative team is also still moving at several official offices in the Muna Regency Government. "We will convey the results of the search again," Ali explained.

Previously reported, the KPK continues to develop a case of alleged bribery of PEN funds. One of the parties who has been charged is the younger brother of Muna La Ode Regent Muhammad Rusman Emba, L. M. Rusdianto Emba.

In the construction of the case, the KPK explained that the younger brother of the Muna Regent was one of the local entrepreneurs in Southeast Sulawesi. Rusdianto is said to have many connections with various parties, including several officials at the local government and central government levels.

He then helped former East Kolaka Regent Andi Merya Nur to take care of PEN funds loans. In return, Rusdianto got a project with a value of tens of billions.
