Mahfud MD Suspects There Is Abuse Of Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School Assets

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD suspects that the abuse of Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School assets was carried out by Panji Gumilang as the head of the boarding school.

Some of the assets suspected of being misused include land belonging to Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School whose ownership certificates are in the name of Panji Gumilang and his family.

"We have reported (to Bareskrim Polri) that there are land certificates in the name of Panji Gumilang and his family, which are suspected to have something to do with the misuse of Al-Zaytun's wealth; because these lands are written in personal names, on behalf of Panji Gumilang, his wife, and children," MahfudMD said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 11.

Mahfud explained, from the results of checking with the National Land Agency (BPN) it showed that 295 plots of land had ownership of the certificate in the name of Panji Gumilang and his family.

"Anyway, the number is 295 certificates. Still looking again if there is a pseudonym for certificates that may use other names, so now they have not been found," he explained.

The certificate holders are on behalf of Abdussalam Raden Panji Gumilang, who is known to have 107 land certificates with a land area of approximately 806,000 square meters. Then, there are also 22 certificates with a land area of 142,500 square meters in the name of Farida Al Widad.

"Then, on behalf of Imam Prawoto, this is often called Abu Toto, as many as 35 fields with an area of 89,700 square meters. Then, Achmad Prawiro Utomo is nine fields (land) 159,000 square meters. There is Ikhwan Triatmo six fields with 69,000 square meters. Then, Anis Khairunnisa, who is suspected to be his wife or child based on a life history, 43 fields, is 442,000 square meters. Then, there is Judge Prasodjo 30 fields or 31 certificates; and finally Sofia Al Widad as many as 42 fields with an area of 396,000 square meters, "said Mahfud quoting data from BPN as of July 11, 2023.

Farida Al Widad alias Siti Chotimah Rahayu is the wife of Panji Gumilang. From the marriage, the couple has six children, namely Imam Prawoto, Achmad Prawiro Utomo, Ikhwan Triatmo, Anis Khoirunnisa, Sofia Al Widad, and Abdul Hakeem. Apart from that, Panji is also known to have six other names.

"There is Abu Toto, there are various kinds of things, and so on. We are still looking for it and we are doing this right. This is a criminal act," said Mahfud MD.
