Land Is Not Clear, Acting Governor Heru Budi Wants MRT Depot To Move To Glodok, No Need Until West Ancol

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono wants the construction of the Jakarta MRT depot which is included in the construction phase 2 located in the Glodok area.

The reason is that the current status of the depot land planned to be in West Ancol as the location of the last station on the north side of phase 2.

Heru mentioned this when signing cooperation in developing regional potential and improving public services between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the Bali Provincial Government.

"Our experience is from (the development started in the era) of the Governor Joko Widodo to this day, in the end the other depot (MRT), there is no one yet, sir. It's just the end here (Lebak Bulus)," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, July 10.

"On this occasion, maybe the president director of the MRT will try to think about it. If it doesn't have to be in Ancol, but the ground position can be in Glodok, with the city," he continued.

It is known that the construction of phase 2A of the Jakarta MRT has seven underground stations, namely Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok and Kota Stations.

Meanwhile, phase 2B was continued with the construction of two stations, namely Mangga Dua, Ancol, and one depot planned in West Ancol.

According to Heru, it is better if the proposed MRT depot development plan to be moved does not need to enter the Kota Tua area which has its own complexities. This is because there are a number of development regulations that cannot be violated in the cultural heritage area.

"(The MRT Depot) does not enter Kota Tua, because it is said that it still has to be escorted by a heritage area, right," said Heru.

Initially, the plan for the MRT phase 2 depot would be placed in Bandan Village, North Jakarta. However, it turns out that PT KAI as the land owner also plans to use it with third parties.

There are new options for placing the MRT depot in West Ancol. However, MRT has not been able to get the land for depots to be built.

The obstacle is that the building rights (HGB) part of the land in West Ancol still belongs to a Japanese company, PT waymas Flat Glass, even though the land utilization rights (HPL) belongs to the DKI Provincial Government on behalf of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol BUMD.

There are 7 HGB areas that have been contracted to PT waymas and 3 other HGB owned by DKI BUMD, namely PT Jakpro. The expiration date for HGBtechmas varies. HGB ends in 2022 and ends in 2029 the most.
