Meeting At The Volunteer Command Post, Supporting Political Parties Ganjar Pranowo Formulate A Winning Strategy

JAKARTA - PPP Secretary General Arwani Thomafi said the meeting with the PDI-P (PDIP), the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo), and a volunteer team formulated a grand strategy to win the presidential candidate from PDIP Ganjar Pranowo.

"This meeting also formulated several grand strategies in winning Ganjar Pranowo," Arwani told reporters after a meeting at the Ganjar Pranowo Volunteer Aspiration House, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 6, was confiscated by Antara.

However, his party could not convey in detail the formulated strategy.

In principle, said Arwani, political parties are in a position ready to carry out unlimited cooperation in winning Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"But also we build successful cooperation in the legislative elections (pileg) in the 2024 elections," he said.

Arwani said that the entire engine of the political party supporting Ganjar Pranowo had moved.

PPP, together with the structure of the figures in the party and also the candidates for PPP legislative members, have moved to win Ganjar Pranowo.

"God willing, in our efforts, to continue the vision of Indonesia's progress, Mr. Jokowi, we will make Ganjar Pranowo welcomed by the people and accepted by the people well," said Arwani.

Until now, parties that have established political cooperation with the PDI-P in carrying Ganjar Pranowo are PPP, Hanura, and Perindo.

Based on the schedule set by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled to start from October 19 to November 25, 2023.

As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
