Inspectorate Calculates Losses In The Corruption Case Of PMI Purwakarta Grant Funds

PURWAKARTA - Inspectorate of Purwakarta Regency, West Java, is still calculating the value of losses from the local Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) grant budget regarding the disclosure of the alleged corruption case of the funds by the police. "Until now, we are still calculating the value of the loss," said Inspector of the Purwakarta Inspectorate, Nurhidayat, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 4. He said that in February 2023 his party had received a letter from the Purwakarta Police regarding the request for calculating state losses from the grant budget that went to PMI Purwakarta. This is related to the alleged corruption case within PMI Purwakarta, which since early 2023 has been handled by the Purwakarta Police. The case of alleged corruption of Purwakarta PMI funds was handled by the police after public reports related to the number of budget sources that entered the humanitarian institution for the past few years, since the COVID-19 pandemic.

To support the disclosure of the case, the local police asked the Purwakarta Inspectorate to calculate the losses of the alleged corruption case. Purwakarta Police Chief, AKBP Edward Zulkarnain, previously said that his party was still investigating the case.
