The Form Of Menyama Braya, Pecalang In Denpasar Guards Muslims To Hold Eid Prayers

JAKARTA The form of tolerance between religious believers, a number of pecalang (adat security officers) from Banjar Lumintang, Dauh Puri Kaja Village, Denpasar, helped maintain the Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijriah/2023 AD prayer at Lumintang Field, Denpasar, Bali, Thursday, June 29.

Chairman of the PHBI Supervisory Board of the Aji Dharma Nirmala Al-Kautsar Denpasar Foundation, Jumari, said that this was a manifestation of the value of benefiting the braya or brotherhood in the implementation of religious worship in Bali.

"We in Bali don't think that because there are religious differences, then we can't work together? Of course not, but really, even though we are of different religions, different ethnicities, we are one unity and humanity," said Jumari, Antara, Thursday, June 29.

Jumari explained that Pecalang's involvement in maintaining the implementation of Eid al-Adha prayers in Lapangan Lumintang has become a tradition since the service was held there in the 2000s.

Therefore, Jumari also invited Muslims in Denpasar to continue to echo the spirit of unity and integrity and benefit the braya in interpreting Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri.

"The value of sacrifice must be owned by every Muslim, especially always proactively maintaining national unity and integrity, peace, blessings and harmony," he said.

Jumari, who is also the Chancellor of the Denpasar Islamic High School, added that Eid al-Adha is a momentum to emulate Prophet Ibrahim AS and his family who have sacrificed everything they have, both wealth, and life and soul for the sake of the blessing of Islam.

Muslims are expected to contribute to the peace, unity and integrity of the nation.

"In the national context, to maintain the unity and integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, through Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Qurant is echoed. The value of sacrifice must be owned by every Muslim," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by Ustadz H M Arifin as the preacher in the Eid prayer which appealed to leaders not to prioritize their personal or group interests alone, but to prioritize the interests of the wider community.

"Tolerance and feelings of gratitude for the braya that has been well established in Bali must be continued and encouraged," he said.

One of the pecalang representatives, Wayan Gede Arimbawa, said that 15 people in the Eid al-Adha prayer this time were deployed.

"We help maintain security as well as this is a form of tolerance between religious communities," said Arimbawa.

Eid al-Adha prayers at the Denpasar Lumintang Field were attended by approximately 7,000 Muslims led by Ustadz Abdurrahman as imam and Ustadz HM Arifin as khatib.
