Feeling Innocent, Johnny G Plate Files An Exception

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Communication and Information (Kominfo), Johnny G. Plate, denied the indictment of the public prosecutor (JPU) in the alleged corruption case in the provision of Base Tranceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure and supporting infrastructure for the 2020-2022 period. Thus, this NasDem politician will file an exception or objection note.

Johnny G. Plate's decision began when the prosecutor finished reading the indictment. Then, Chief Judge Fahzal Hendri questioned that the defendant had understood the contents of the indictment.

"Do you understand the charges read out," asked Chief Judge Fahzal Hendri during a trial at the Central Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, June 27.

Then, Johnny said he had understood it. He also denied all the contents of the indictment so that he would file an exception.

"I understand Your Majesty, but I did not do what was charged. Later I will prove it," replied Plate.

Chief Judge Fahzal had warned that the exceptions of the defendants were not included in the subject matter of the case. In fact, the panel of judges will refuse if it happens.

"If we mention the subject matter, we will definitely reject it," said the judge

Responding to this, Johnny firmly stated that he would file an exception. So, all the prosecutors' charges can be refuted.

"After discussion, we will still file an exception," said Plate.

Even with the other two defendants, namely, Anang Achmad Latif and Yohan Suryanto. They will also file an exception.

Johnny G. Plate, charged with corruption in Station (BTS) and supporting infrastructure for the 2020-2022 period. His actions caused state losses to reach Rp. 8 trillion.

In addition, Johnny was also charged with receiving money and several facilities from related parties in the alleged corruption case. The nominal reached Rp17.8 billion.
