DKI Provincial Government Sells 24 US Dollars Of RDF Plant Waste Per Ton

Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono released an alternative fuel shipment from processed waste processed at the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant Bantargebang.

BEKASI - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono released the delivery of alternative fuel from processed waste processed at the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant Bantargebang.

This waste processing into coal-level fuel is sold by PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk, and PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SBI) at a price of 24 US Dollars per ton or equivalent to Rp359 thousand in the current exchange rate.

"On behalf of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, I express my high appreciation and gratitude for the willingness of PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk and PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk to become offtakers of waste processing output to RDF at TPST Bantargebang," Heru said at TPST Bantargebang, Bekasi, West Java, Tuesday, June 27.

The DKI Provincial Government's cooperation in buying and selling waste from RDF results to the two cement companies was carried out over the next five years and could be extended.

"We send 700 tons to PT Indocement 625 tons per day and to PT SBI 75 tons RDF per day. The DKI Regional Government does not spend other costs other than investing in equipment that we are here today," explained Heru.

Every day, RDF Plant processes 2,000 tons of waste consisting of 1,000 tons of old waste in Bantargebang and 1,000 tons of new waste sent from Jakarta and produces 700 tons of fuel.

Heru admitted that the waste processing quantity of the RDF Plant bantargebang still does not meet the offtaker needs, such as PT Indocement which requires 2,500 tons of fuel every day.

"So starting today and beyond, the RDF results have been purchased to the two companies. Indeed, the Indocement company needs 2,700 tons per day. The DKI Regional Government can only supply 700 tons. So there are still shortcomings. There is still a market share, they still need a lot of results. So, the DKI Regional Government will increase the RDF processing," he explained.

However, Heru said this collaboration had become a solution to the waste problem at the Bantargebang TPST which had accumulated with waste production from Jakarta which reached 7,500 tons.

"This is a solution, because every day, as much as 10-7,500 tons of waste per day from the DKI Jakarta area is transported to the Bantargebang TPST so that the Bantargebang TPST almost reaches its maximum capacity," he added.
