Bandung Court Sentences 2 Bribes Of Supreme Court Justices 6.5 And 5.5 Years In Prison

JABAR - The panel of judges at the Bandung Corruption Court (PN) sentenced 2 defendants who bribed the Supreme Court (MA), Heryanto Tanaka and Ivan Dwi Kusuma Sujanto. Both were each sentenced to 6.5 years and 5.5 years in prison. The two defendants were deposits who experienced financial problems with the Intidana Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP).

The presiding judge said the two defendants were legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption in bribery in the case of handling the KSP Intidana case. Meanwhile, Heryanto Tanaka was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison and was required to pay a fine of Rp. 750 million. If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with a sentence of three months in prison. Then Ivan Dwi Kusuma Sujanto was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison with a fine of Rp. 750 million. Similar to Heryanto if he does not pay the fine, it will be replaced with a sentence of three months in prison.

The judge stated that both of them were guilty in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter a, Article 5 paragraph 1 letter a of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code. Veris is lower than the demands of the Public Prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Previously, Heryanto Tanaka was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison and Ivan Dwi Kusuma Sujanto was sentenced to 8 years in prison. In the case of case of case management within the Supreme Court, Heryanto Tanaka and Ivan Dwi Kusuma Sujanto acted as bribes to a number of Supreme Court judges, including Sudrajad Dimyati and Gazalba Saleh with money amounting to 110 thousand Singapore dollars and 220 thousand Singapore dollars, and others. Herianto and Ivan gave bribes because they wanted the panel of judges in the Supreme Court who examined the case to grant the cassation of granting Civil Registration Cassation Number 874 K/Pdt.Sus-Pailit/2022 related to financial problems at the Intidana Savings Cooperative (KSP).
