4-year-old Boy DIEd Persecuted By Mother Kandung And Stepfather, Police: The Two Perpetrators Have Been Arrested

JAKARTA - A 4-year-old boy died after being a victim of abuse by his biological mother and stepfather. The victim suffered injuries all over his body despite undergoing treatment at the South Tangerang City General Hospital.

"The South Tangerang Police have investigated cases of violence against minors under the age of about 4 years known to have occurred on Tuesday, June 20, 2023," said Head of Public Relations of the South Tangerang City Police, Iptu Galih Dwi Nuryanto, Sunday, June 25.

Furthermore, Iptu Dwi emphasized that the boy was a victim of violence. The case of violence against children is handled by the PPA Unit of the South Tangerang City Police Satreskrim.

"The perpetrator has been arrested. The PPA Unit of the South Tangerang City Police Satreskrim immediately acted quickly in handling the case," he said.

Iptu Galih added that the boy was rushed to the hospital before finally dying.

"It is suspected that the biological mother and stepfather of the victim were carried out, and now we have detained them at the South Tangerang Police," he said.

"Thank God we received information from the South Tangerang General Hospital that the child victim was declared dead and then the body has been taken to the Fatmawati Hospital in South Jakarta for an autopsy," he added.

Until now, the case is in an in-depth investigation carried out by the PPA Unit of the South Tangerang City Police.
