JAKARTA - In October 2022, the Russian Government expressed its concerns regarding Ukraine's plans to use a 'dried bomb', a conventional explosive bomb mixed with radioactive material.

Now the allegations are sticking out again, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, June 24, Ukraine has reiterated its rebuttal to Russia's accusations that Kiev is trying to create a "dirty bomb".

"This is again Russian propaganda, trying to make up a story about a 'dirty bomb'. I repeat that Ukraine never had, did not have, and had no plans to get a 'dried bomb'," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Twitter on Friday, June 23.

He further explained that when Russia first revealed the allegations last year, Ukraine had given full access to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) - which later denied the claims.

Head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Agency Sergey Naryshkin previously claimed that they received information about the possibility of Ukraine working on making a 'dirty nuclear bomb'. He called on the IAEA and the European Union to follow up on Ukraine's actions.

Russia made similar claims last October and warned Western countries of Ukraine's alleged plans to use bombs that combine conventional explosives, such as misery, with radioactive material in its own territory to then blame Moscow.

The West has rejected the allegations and reaffirmed its support for Ukraine, in its war against Russia.

"Our country makes it clear that we all reject Russia's false accusations that Ukraine (is) preparing to use dirty bombs on its own territory," the foreign ministers France, Britain and the US said in a joint statement last year.
