PAPUA - The SAR team is conducting a search for KM Farida Indah, who reportedly lost contact on her way from Timika, Central Papua to Asmat, South Papua. Head of the Timika Search and Rescue Office, George LM Randang, admitted that the SAR team is currently starting to be deployed to find the whereabouts of KM Farida Indah, who lost contact on her way to Asmat. The ship, which was loaded with building materials with eight crew members including the captain, sailed from Timika since Monday, June 19 at around 09:30 WIT and is scheduled to arrive Tuesday, June 20 at 16:00 WIT. However, as of Thursday, June 22, the ship had not arrived in Agats, the capital of Asmat Regency. So, continued George, the ship owner reported it to the Timika SAR post. The search carried out today was carried out in accordance with the SARMAP Prediction sent by the Central Basarnas Command Center. Previously, Thursday (22/6) shortly after receiving a report from the joint SAR team had also been deployed using RB 217 Timika. "The search was carried out for up to 10 nautical miles from the Poumako estuary towards Island Tiga but found no signs of the ship's whereabouts," Randang said as quoted by Antara, Friday, June 23.

The eight names of the crew members of KM Farida Indah are Babak (50), Andi Suwardi (50), Doni (40), Abdul (40), Ahmad, Undin, Bakri and Defi.
