Bali Governor Wayan Koster said the construction of the Jagat Kerthi Bali toll road connecting Gilimanuk and Mengwi along the 96.21 kilometers would continue despite a slowdown or delay from the initial plan.
"The toll road construction has slowed down due to changes in shareholders in corporate companies that have the task of working on toll roads," said Koster in Denpasar as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 19.
According to him, it is currently being handled by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and there will be a new process and mechanism that must be taken for the change of shareholders so that the construction can be continued.
"It's not that there are no investors, many are interested," said the former member of the three-term DPR at the Bali DPRD Plenary Session in Denpasar.
Koster conveyed that the PUPR Ministry had ensured that the construction of the Gilimanuk-Bengwi Toll Road would continue and there was nothing to worry about.
"Indeed, the consequences are slightly delayed by one year due to the change in the mechanism for share participation in the corporation," he said.
Therefore, Koster asked the Bali DPRD and the Balinese people to understand the conditions for delaying the toll road construction.
"Because of the high appeal of toll roads, many are interested, then there are new participants who want to participate so that there is a change in the mechanism for stock participation," he said.
