Head of Central Village, Kramat Jatata Subdistrict, Budy Hartati, said the heavy rain that occurred in Bogor and Depok caused the overflow of the New River, Kramat Jati.

"The flow of the New River must have gone up and the water spilled onto the road," he said.

The East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) is currently trying to repair the sheet pile in Kali Baru.

"The water sheet is not functioning properly. This year, we are working on repairs," said Hartati.
