Police Evacuate Overturned Trucks That Close Nagreg Line

BANDUNG - Police officers are still trying to evacuate a fuso truck that overturned in the Cagak Nagreg area, Bandung Regency, West Java, and closed access on the national road.

The Head of Traffic Unit of the Nagreg Police, Ipda Tatang Saprudin, said the truck rolled over at the location at around 03.25 WIB. However, until the morning at 08.30 WIB, according to him, the truck was still closing all parts of the road.

"Based on the initial information, he said the brakes were not working, the brakes failed," Tatang said in Bandung as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 19.

The Fuso truck, which has the police number D 9155 AB, is loaded with ceramics on its way from Purwakarta to Garut.

The contour road in the Cagak Nagreg area decreased from a few hundred meters before. Arriving at the location, he said, the driver named Asep Kurnia could not control the truck because the brakes failed.

"There were no victims, only the driver suffered minor injuries," he said.

Police are still waiting for the replacement truck for the overturned truck to return to transport ceramic cargo. According to him, the police were also assisted by local residents to clean up ceramic materials.

"Because there is no replacement car from Purwakarta, it hasn't arrived yet. So we will pull over the ceramics first," he said.

As a result of the accident, the police imposed a temporary diversion from Bandung towards the city center of Garut, because the route to the Tasikmalaya area was completely covered by the truck.

"This is still waiting for evacuation, while we will direct the route to Garut," he said.
