AHY Reveals The Atmosphere Of Meeting With Puan: Respect And Understanding The Position Of A Democrat

Chairman (Ketum) of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said his meeting with the Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Puan Maharani was open and respectful.

This was conveyed after the two of them held a political meeting today, Sunday, June 18 at Plataran, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

"The meeting was intended because it started with mutual respect and understanding each other's positions. Mbak Puan herself, who opened it, understands that the Democratic position is building a Coalition for Change," AHY said at a press conference.

By understanding this with each other, AHY said the conversation went smoothly. "The two parties have become very open, finally there is no bad feeling of conveying things that are indeed good for us to know, we are talking about each other," he said.

Not getting there, Puan called AHY had asked about her party position. Likewise, he asked about PDIP.

Although he did not elaborate on the closed meeting for more than an hour. However, he said there was one agreement reached.

"We both agree that the 2024 election will run peacefully, there will be no divisions, no polarization or very violent clashes between society or the nation itself," he said.

Meanwhile, Puan said this meeting took place with a smile and a sense of kinship. Together with AHY, he agreed to continue to build communication.

"This gathering will continue to be carried out to be able to build communication, so that there is no miscommunication," he said.

"Even if there are no similarities yet, yes, his name is still looking for a pattern so that together we must talk continuously, talk continuously, talk continuously, talk continuously, and we have agreed that the communication will continue to be implemented," concluded the chairman of the DPR RI.
