PPP Will Not Force Sandiaga Uno To Be Ganjar Pranowo's Vice Presidential Candidate

Acting Chairman of the DPP United Development Party (PPP) Muhamad Mardiono admitted that he would not force the Chairman of the PPP Election Winning Body Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno as a candidate for vice president (cawapres) to accompany Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 General Election.

"Politics cannot impose will, because politics is democracy," said Mardiono after the PPP National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) VI at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 17.

He explained that in the political world that was used was negotiations. This was done to convince other parties to accept the vision and mission proposed by the party bearing the ka'bah logo.

"This politics is what we use the power of communication and lobbying," he explained.

Even so, Mardiono said he would continue to try to fight for Sandiaga Uno so that he could be elected by the PDI-P (PDIP) to accompany Ganjar Pranowo's presidential candidate in the 2024 election.

"In terms of politics, lobbying presents ideas and ideas to build the nation and this country in the future. There is no political force, (if it imposes) it is called authoritarian," he said.

He also rejected the assumption that PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri had resistance with Sandiaga. According to him, as a statesman, Megawati always opens the same space for all parties.

"Mrs. Megawati is our national political teacher, yes, that's why I believe it is not (resistant). Not maintaining boundaries, maintaining distance from all the leaders of our nation," concluded Mardiono.

The DPP of the United Development Party (PPP) recommends the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno as a candidate for vice president (cawapres) to accompany Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

This was conveyed directly by the Secretary General of the PPP DPP Muhamad Arwani Thomafi at the PPP VI National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Saturday (17/6).

"We will read out the recommendation of the 6th National Leadership Meeting regarding the presidential election that the United Development Party proposed Haji Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno as a vice presidential candidate to accompany Ganjar Pranowo's presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election," said Arwani.
