Nahdliyin Ngawi Residents Agree To Support Cak Imin In The 2024 Presidential Election

NGAWI- In a recent meeting between Nahdliyin residents in Ngawi, East Java, deliberations and halalbihalal were held to discuss their candidate for choice in the 2024 Presidential Election. The participants unanimously agreed to support Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, or better known as Cak Imin, who also serves as Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB).

Zaenal Arifin, Chairman of the Nahdliyin Ngawi Citizens Consultative Committee, expressed their strong support for a candidate for leader who truly came from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) to lead Indonesia. He stressed that their support for Cak Imin was based on their aspirations for the realization of prosperity and justice in this country.

"The Nahdliyin community sincerely supports NU leaders to lead this nation, with the aim of achieving prosperity and justice," said Zaenal in a written statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, June 10.

Although NU is structurally prohibited from engaging in politics, Zaenal stressed that this attitude can be taken through a structural approach. He emphasized that Nahdliyin members have the right to voice their aspirations and elect their leaders.

Zaenal also added that the 2024 Presidential Election has an important meaning in the development of the country. This election process is expected to provide solutions to overcome the crisis and prolonged transition period. Therefore, in deliberations and halalbihalal held at the Al Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, Majasem, Kendal, which was led by KH Khoirul Anam Mu'min, Nahdliyin residents throughout Ngawi declared their support for Cak Imin.

"NU residents want real changes, encouraged by the spirit to fight for the aspirations of the people," said Zaenal.

Zaenal emphasized the importance of uniting the vision and mission among all Nahdliyin residents, so that this organization, which is synonymous with green, has great strength, not only in terms of numbers, but also individual quality.
