Sandiaga Already 'Spected' Plt Ketum PPP Mardiono: Soon Not Single Again

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno did not deny the orientation period or "ospects" to join the United Development Party (PPP) soon. Sandiaga will soon become a member of a political party.

"Amen, Amen, Alhamdulillah, hopefully because the one who determines the aspect period is Mr. Mardiono (Plt Chairman of PPP) himself. So hopefully he won't be single again," Sandiaga said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 9.

Sandiaga said that as far as the brokering period continues until now, he already has an understanding with PPP.

"I'm just following the coaching process, yes, and this is still ongoing and hopefully we will communicate soon," he said.

However, rather than being fixated on political steps, Sandiaga admitted that he focused more on his thoughts on various main issues in society, namely the economy.

"I want to focus on the main issue first. What is the main issue? Because I travel around Indonesia from Aceh to Papua that the main issue is about the economy," he said.

Including, he continued, what position he gets when he joins a political party. According to him, this is the decisive one is the leader of a political party.

"I will not mess with that, but I am concerned about how this economy becomes the main discussion of our democratic contestation," he said.

He also mentioned that his thoughts regarding the economic discourse would be the main thing he brought when he joined a new political party, including PPP.

"Because I believe I have to join the party to bring this thought. Hopefully in the next few weeks we can finalize this," he said.
