Zulhas Meets Megawati This Afternoon, Discusses Candidates For Ganjar From PAN?

JAKARTA - PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) and PAN DPP administrators will meet Megawati Soekarnoputri and other PDIP DPP administrators this afternoon. This meeting was held at Megawati's residence on Jalan Teuku Umar, Central Jakarta.

Chairman of the DPP PAN Saleh Partaonan Daulay explained that Zulhas would bring a number of actual issues to discuss with Megawati. What is clear is that political-related issues will also be discussed between PAN and PDIP.

"This is a political gathering between two political parties. Apart from talking about social, cultural, economic and other issues, of course political issues will also be discussed. What is called party meetings, yes, the agenda must be political content," Saleh told reporters, Friday, June 2.

In fact, Saleh continued, Zulhas will discuss opportunities for a coalition with PDIP in the nomination of president and vice president in the 2024 General Election.

"It seems that there will be an assessment of the cooperation of the presidential election coalition. Each party is certainly allowed to submit its ideas and thoughts. That way, it is hoped that a pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates will be able to continue the national leadership and development relay," he explained.

Furthermore, Saleh revealed that currently PAN is exploring many parties. PAN, he said, will continue to conduct studies and simulations related to the potential for coalition buildings in the upcoming presidential election.

"We would be happy if there were ideas and offers of thought that would be conveyed by the PDI-P," added Saleh.

For information, PAN has now formed a United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) with the Golkar Party and PPP. However, recently the issue of KIB was shaky because PPP had openly expressed its support for PDIP cadre Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate.
