The Body Arrives At The Funeral Home, Minister Of Environment And Forestry: Mr. Sarwono Is One Of The Best Sons Of The Nation

The body of former Minister of the Environment Sarwono Kusumaatmadja arrived at the funeral home in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Saturday.

The body arrived at the funeral home at 17.54 WIB after being flown in from Penang, Malaysia and arrived in Jakarta at around 16.30 WIB. It was observed that a number of figures such as the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) RI Sandiaga Uno had been present at the funeral home. The atmosphere of the funeral home seemed to be filled with various kinds of flower bouquets from a number of figures such as President Joko Widodo, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, as well as a number of other national figures. At the funeral home, Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar said the late Sarwono Kusumaatmadja was one of the best sons of the Indonesian nation. "I think everyone knows that he is one of the nation's best sons, he is a mentor for many colleagues, he is also a senior, he is also a professional," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 27.

Siti said the deceased was a figure who gave exemplary, full of knowledge, solution, and became a comfortable place to talk to in such a wide perspective and spectrum. He also thanked all parties who helped smooth the process of repatriating bodies from Malaysia.

As is well known, the deceased had served as Minister of Indonesian Marine Exploration in the Gus Dur era and Minister of Administrative Reform in the Suharto era.
