Heru Budi Wants Jakarta WFH Employees During The ASEAN Summit, Observer: Entrepreneurs Lose

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono examines the implementation of work from home (WFH) for employees who work in the capital city during the ASEAN Summit (KTT). This is because WFH can reduce the productivity of employees who work in the office every day. "For private employees, it's related to productivity. They can't possibly stop. How come it closes all day (the ASEAN Summit)?" Trubus said when contacted, Friday, May 26. Trubus asked the DKI Provincial Government to find a solution to the potential loss of business actors if all of its employees were WFH during the international forum. "There must be another solution. There must be compensation for the business actors. If not, then the entrepreneur will scream because even if it's just a day (WFH employees), it's a loss. For example, goods that are already wanted to be exported, or products and services that have been agreed upon, it's impossible to postpone or resign," he said. Previously, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said that currently the discourse on the implementation of WFH for the community was being studied as part of the success of organizing the ASEAN Summit series. The discussion of the study will also involve Polda Metro Jaya and Kodam Jaya. ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM)/Post Ministerial Meetings (PMC) in Jakarta will take place on 8-14 July 2023 and the ASEAN Plus/ASEAN+3 Summit which will be held on 5-7 September 2023. "It is possible, for example, on the 13th, 14th, it is still a discourse, it can work from home, and also in the position from September 5 to 7, we will discuss it with the Kapolda, Pak Pangdam, to be able to work from home," Heru said after holding a coordination meeting for the preparation of the ASEAN Summit, Tuesday, May 23.
