Viral Sharp Armed Robbery At Minimart, NTB Police Deploy Special Team

MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police are paying attention to the sharp armed robbery at an Indomaret supermarket located on Jalan Bypass Lombok International Airport (BIL), Central Lombok Regency.

Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) Polda NTB Kombes Pol. Teddy Ristiawan emphasized that in this case he had deployed a Puma Team which had a special task of eradicating criminal acts.

"So, the entire Puma Team, both those on duty at the NTB Police and the Polres, have been mobilized to pursue the perpetrators. Hopefully this case can be revealed soon," Teddy said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24.

As material for tracing the perpetrators, he assured that his party had studied the actions of the perpetrators who were caught on the Indomaret CCTV camera until they went viral on social media.

In addition, his party has also conducted crime scene investigations and examined witnesses as well as victims who are dealing directly with the perpetrators.

"So, there is already some picture in the investigation of this case. However, what it looks like, we can't convey it because it's part of the investigation strategy. What is clear, we have mapped it," he said.

From the CCTV footage installed in Indomaret, the perpetrator was recorded wearing a black hoodie jacket and a mask. He acts alone.

In the recording, the perpetrator is seen carrying out the crime by pointing a sharp weapon of the type of machete at the female cashier.

There was a debate between the perpetrator and the victim until finally the victim handed over the money in the cashier's safe and his cell phone.

Based on reports received by the police, the victim's losses from the robbery that occurred on May 6, 2023 reached tens of millions.

"The total loss is Rp. 18 million, that does not include the victim's cellphone (cell phone) which was taken by the perpetrator," he said.
