This Year, Bogor Regency Government Targets 2,000 Huntaps For Disaster Victims

BOGOR - Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab), West Java targets to be able to build as many as 2,000 permanent housing units (huntap) for disaster victims within a year.

"Last year's update has been built in 500 units of (total target) 2,500 units. We are targeting that in October 2023 2,500 huntaps will be completed," said Head of the Bogor Regency Housing and Settlement Area (DPKPP), Ajat Rohmat Jatnika, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 23.

He revealed that the Bogor Regency Government through the DPKPP has budgeted Rp155 billion using the 2023 regional budget to complete disaster victims' housing in the western region of Bogor Regency.

"The budget per one unit of huntap is Rp. 62 million, it is outside the budget for facilities and infrastructure," he said again.

Ajat explained that the construction of the huntap this time involved the community, so that the work was expected to be faster and provide economic support to local residents.

"Yesterday, I went there to see community empowerment for physical development, the direction is indeed so that the community is empowered," said Ajat as well.

Head of the Housing Division of the Bogor Regency DPKPP, Dede Armansyah, explained that the huntap work project was not auctioned off, because the construction was carried out through a self-management contract through community groups (pokmas) from each village.

"Of the 2,500 huntap units, 16 villages will be built, so there are 16 pokmas that will work on this huntap," said Dede again.

He explained that each pokmas will work according to the needs of huntap victims of natural disasters that have been verified factually by the DPKPP, from the fewest in Purbasari Village as many as 33 units to the most in Cileuksa Village, Sukajaya District as many as 1,200 units.

Hundreds of huntap units that have been built are not enough to accommodate around 2,000 families (KK) victims of flash floods and landslides that occurred in early 2021 in four sub-districts in Bogor Regency, namely Sukajaya, Cigudeg, Jasinga, and Nanggung.

Previously, the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bogor Regency, Burhanudin, said that natural disasters in early 2020 in four sub-districts were estimated to cause losses of up to IDR 1.4 trillion.

"That is not the result of our calculations. However, it is the result of calculations from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB)," he said.

Bad weather that occurred on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, resulted in a number of areas in Bogor Regency being affected by floods and landslides.

The incident resulted in the death toll of eight people, and three missing people who have now been declared dead. Then, 12 people suffered serious injuries, and 517 people suffered minor injuries.
