BMKG Forecasts Hot Eve Cover Bengkulu Until Early June

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts hot air will cover the Bengkulu Province until early June 2023.

"It is predicted that until the end of May or early June 2023," said BMKG Data and Information Coordinator, Baai Bengkulu Island Climatology Station, Anang Anwar, in Bengkulu City, Sunday, May 21, which was confiscated by Antara.

Anang said that the air temperature in the Bengkulu Province currently ranges from 18 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius, but feels hotter because the humidity has decreased.

According to him, the normal humidity in the Bengkulu Province is in the range of 75 percent to 95 percent.

However, according to BMKG data, recently the humidity in the Bengkulu area fell to around 60 percent.

"The decrease in humidity occurs because the current solar trajectory is perpendicular to the equator line, causing evaporation and making the air drier and hotter," said Anang.

Acting Head of the Bengkulu City Health Office, Dadi Hartono, appealed to residents to reduce activities outside the home and provide water consumption during hot weather.

"People must increase their immune system. Apart from vitamins, they can consume more fruit and vegetables. We ask to maintain health during this extreme weather," he said.

"If you feel there is a health problem, immediately go to the nearest health service facility," he concluded.
