Indonesian Navy Deploys 4 KRIs To Secure Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin Activities At PIK And Untung Island, Java

The Indonesian Navy deployed four warships (KRI) in North Jakarta waters to secure the agenda of President Joko Widodo's activities at Pantai Indah Kapuk and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin on Untung Island, Java, Thousand Islands.

The four KRIs are KRIKujang-642, KRIKarotang-882, KRIBarakuda-814, and KRISiwar-646. In addition, SeaRaider was also alerted from the Jalamangkara Detachment (Denjaka), Frog Troop Command, and the Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion (Taifib) of the Indonesian Navy.

"The Indonesian Navy will always be ready to carry out the tu gas provided by increasing operational readiness of both defense equipment (major weapon system) and operations units," said Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Admiral Muhammad Ali as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 15.

President Jokowi is scheduled to lead the National Mangrove Planting activity at Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta, Monday; while Vice President Ma'ruf Amin is scheduled to inaugurate Kampung Bahari Nusantara (KBN) on Untung Island, Java.

For mangrove planting activities, TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono directly inspected the activity's rehearsal at the Angke Nature Tourism Park (TWA), North Jakarta, Sunday (14/5).

The mangrove planting activity was centered in Block D TWA Angke and was attended by members of the TNI and Polri, students, students, and community representatives.

"Investment simultaneously carried out from Sabang to Merauke aims to make the sea fertile and avoid abrasion, as well as to disseminate and set an example that we are also able to carry out the planting of these mangroves," said Yudo.

Meanwhile, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin inaugurated 68 Kampung Bahari Nusantara simultaneously from Untung Island, Java, Thousand Islands.

During the inauguration, the Vice President was scheduled to have a virtual dialogue with representatives of Kampung Bahari Nusantara in six locations, namely Simeuleu, Kotabaru, Morotai, Ternate, Timika, and Sorong.

Kampung Bahari Nusantara is one of the Indonesian Navy's programs to raise the maritime potential of coastal areas in Indonesia.

There are six clusters in Kampung Bahari Nusantara, namely the Defense Cluster, Economic Cluster, Education Cluster, Health Cluster, and Tourism Cluster.

The Defense Cluster at KBN has a mission to empower coastal communities as components to support national defense; while the Economic Cluster is to improve the welfare and economy of the community through empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

In addition, the Education Cluster carries out a mission to increase public knowledge and insight regarding technology and national values.

Then, the Health Cluster contains counseling and socialization of a healthy living culture through improving puskesmas services and village maternity huts (Polindes). Finally, the Tourism Cluster to empower villages is a sustainable marine tourism destination.
