Cianjur Regency Government Prioritizes Heavy Damaged District Road Repairs

CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, prioritizes repairing district roads whose condition is badly damaged gradually to accelerate economic recovery, especially the tourism sector.

Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman said that his party received many reports and complaints from residents regarding road infrastructure improvements in a number of areas, especially the southern region, but currently most of them are in the repair and development stage.

"The priority scale for roads that are heavily damaged towards tourist attractions in the southern region, has been included in the 2023 budget, tens of kilometers of roads in the southern region are under construction and repairs," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.

He hopes that residents in a number of areas who have not been touched by construction and road repairs will be patient waiting for their turn because of the large budget needed for road construction, while the Cianjur APBD is limited.

"We are targeting that every year a dozen kilometers of sub-district roads will be good and concretization can be achieved. Next year we will prepare a budget of up to one hundred billion rupiah for road repairs, as an effort to improve the residents' economy," he said.

Meanwhile, residents in a number of sub-districts in southern Cianjur, hope that the repair of district roads that span their area will be repaired immediately so that residents' activities are not hampered like in other areas in Cianjur, especially economic activity.

"If the number of Cianjur Regents is calculated, who promised, three people will repair district roads that have been heavily damaged since a dozen years ago. We only hope that the real evidence will no longer promise to repair roads," said a resident of southern Cianjur, Jajang Jay.

So far, he said, tens of kilometers of regency roads connecting between villages and sub-districts and even between regencies in Naringggul District did not seem to get attention, so residents' activities were hampered especially when carrying sick residents and it turned out that they were faster using stretchers.

"If you want to go to the puskesmas or to a hospital in Cianjur, bring sick residents faster to walk because access to vehicles is difficult to get to because of road conditions such as dry and muddy rivers when it rains heavily," he said.
