Army Chief Of Staff Reminds Soldiers On Duty To Papua Not To Break The Rules

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman asked Indonesian Army soldiers who would be dispatched to Papua not to violate the rules in their area of duty.

"Wifess, pray for her husband who is on duty, also pray for all soldiers to be safe and successful in his assignment. The task of operation is a call for state duty which is also an honor for soldiers," said the Army Chief of Staff as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.

The Army Chief of Staff came directly to the Yonif PR 433/JS/3 Kostrad Headquarters in Maros, Monday, to directly observe the readiness of the troops, and give directions to those who will be dispatched to Papua to guard the border.

During the visit, Dudung heard the explanation from the Commander of Infantry Battalion PR 433/JS/3 Kostrad Lt. Col. Inf. Laode Muhammad Idrus, followed by checking the title of troops.

To the soldiers, Dudung conveyed that the success of the task force was influenced by the leadership of the unit commander (dansat).

The leadership of the unit commander reflects how the unit faces the various tasks charged. Keep the soldiers' morale, make sure all the needs of the soldiers are met so that the tasks can be carried out properly," said General Dudung.

Therefore, the Army Chief of Staff asked his staff to immediately submit to their superiors and TNI AD Headquarters if there were additional equipment to support their duties in Papua.

"No equipment is supported by its own efforts. Submit it! I'll support it later," said Dudung, who was greeted by the noise of loud applause from the soldiers.

In the activity of checking the readiness of soldiers in Maros, Kasad was accompanied by the Kostrad Commander Lt. Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak, Pangdam XIV/Hasanuddin Major General TNI Totok Imam Santoso, and Pangdiv 3 Kostrad Major General TNI Choirul Anam.
