JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the one-way or one-way policy could be extended as discretion from the police in accordance with conditions that occur in the field

He also appealed to people who returned from the 2023 Lebaran homecoming to comply with the directions of officers in the field during the implementation of traffic engineering, so that the trip would run smoothly and safely.

"Handling backflow can really run optimally, because compliance with the rules given by officers in the field will certainly greatly help the smooth and safety of road users," Sigit said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 25.

This was conveyed by Sigit when giving a briefing at the Cikampek Utama (Cikatama) Toll Integrated Command Post KM 70 after conducting a review via air from KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Road to KM 70 Cikatama Toll Road.

During the review, Sigit was accompanied by a number of main officials from the National Police Headquarters to ensure the current situation of the 2023 Eid on toll roads and arteries, when traffic engineering policies were implemented.

After the review, the four-star general immediately chaired a coordination meeting with his staff, as well as cross-sectors related.

The former Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police ensured that the flow of the sweep was safe, smooth and comfortable and memorable, with cross-sectional engineering carried out by the National Police along with relevant stakeholders.

To unravel the potential for density during backflow, Sigit said, one way will be applied as when the homecoming flow some time ago. Starting from the Kalikangkung KM 414 Toll Gate to the Cikampek Utama (Cikatama) KM 70 Toll Road.

Even so, said Sigit, the one way policy could be extended as a discretion from the police in accordance with conditions that occur in the field.

"If it turns out that a one way must be done to the Jakarta area. We are also preparing starting from KM 70 then KM 36 even to KM 3+500. Everything is prepared, including the contra flow arrangement is adjusted to the calculation in Jasa Marga, to monitor the volume of traffic density that passes," said Sigit.

Korlantas Polri appealed to the road users regarding driving rules on toll roads, including the use of the shoulder of the road for vehicles in an emergency, the right lane for vehicles with higher speeds to overtake other vehicles, the left lane for low speed, maintaining distance and speed limits on toll roads between 60 km per hour to 100 km per hour.
