A 3-year-old Boy Viral In South Jakarta Alley Becomes A Robbery Victim, Police Intervene

JAKARTA - A viral video on social media shows the mobile phone snatching being played by a 3-year-old boy around Gang Depan Lemigas, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

The video uploaded by my @Infojkt account shows the boy playing with his cellphone sitting on the bench. Suddenly two of the perpetrators came on a motorbike and immediately snatched the boy's cellphone.

Contacted separately, the Kebayoran Lama Police Chief, Kompol Widya Agustiono confirmed the incident. The incident occurred on Friday, April 21, at 15.54 WIB.

"Yes, that's right, sir. We checked the night. "Yes, Mr. Hanphone, the child was taken when he played on the edge of the alley," said Widya when confirmed, Monday, April 24.

Therefore, Widya asked the victim's family to make a police report. The goal is to follow up on the case.

"We urge the family to make a report to the police so that we can carry out further investigations," he said.

Meanwhile, while waiting for the report, he still ordered his members to examine witnesses and CCTV at the scene. In order to reveal the identity of the perpetrator.

"Witnesses are his family. You don't see it either. His name is left by his cellphone playing alone. We'll just try to see the CCTV. We develop the culprit like that," he said.

Not only that, Widya also appealed to parents not to give their valuables to their underage children. So as not to provoke potential crimes.

"Please, mas, tell parents, to take care of their child properly. So that a cellphone is not given, unless it is an adult, and it is still a child, it actually provokes potential crimes," he concluded.
