Jokowi Ogah's Name Is Profited By The 2024 Presidential Candidate: What's My Business?

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo admitted that he did not want to be involved in the matter of presidential candidacy. This is in response to the issue that political figures need Jokowi's blessing to contest as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election.

This statement was conveyed by Jokowi during the Ramadan gathering held by PAN General Chair Zulkifli Hasan.

The event was also attended by Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, Golkar Party Chair Airlangga Hartato, and Plt General Chairperson of PPP Mardiono.

"So the name of the presidential election is a matter of party affairs or coalition of parties. Don't let the president be involved. However, often the chairman of this party a little (mention) has been approved by the President. What is the relationship? It has nothing to do with it, "said Jokowi at the PAN DPP Office, South Jakarta, Sunday, April 2.

Jokowi also felt that he did not need to express his blessing to a combination of political parties in forming a coalition to nominate presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

"Especially if you come to me in building a coalition, everything has been approved by the president, what is my business? There is no business," said Jokowi.

So far, Jokowi admitted that only party elites visited and asked for a response regarding whether or not political figures agreed to become presidential and vice-presidential candidates, starting from the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) between Golkar-PAN-PPP, to the Gerindra-PKB coalition.

"Form the KIB coalition, KIB was formed because of the meeting of Mr. Airlangga, Mr. Zul, and Mr. Mardiono. Just came to me, sir, asking for your blessing. If I am asked that, I will give my blessing. Actually, it's just like that," explained the former governor of DKI.

"Pak Prabowo and Cak Imin, Gerindra with PKB are the same. Cak Imin (ask) 'what about me with Gerindra?' Yes, I'm fine. Then I, I connected to Pak Prabowo. Finally, I continued that, you know. But it's not because of me," he continued.
