President Jokowi Hopes Muhammadiyah Will Participate In Fighting COVID-19 Vaccine Hoaxes

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo hopes that Muhammadiyah will fight against various hoaxes about COVID-19, including those related to vaccines.

"I hope Muhammadiyah can help provide the correct explanation and understanding so that the public does not get wrong information or harmful hoaxes," Jokowi said in his online remarks on the 108th anniversary of Muhammadiyah as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 18.

Jokowi said that the government is currently preparing carefully, carefully and thoroughly in preparing the COVID-19 vaccine. That way, antivirals can make Indonesia recover immediately and rise up through safe vaccines.

The safety of vaccines, said Jokowi, also considers other elements, namely halalness and even distribution.

"Ensuring the safety, effectiveness, halalness and public access to vaccines," he said

Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Haedar Nashir said the COVID-19 pandemic had not ended and claimed many victims. All elements of Muhammadiyah should always provide benefits and solve problems.

Haedar said that each party must continue to be disciplined, be vigilant, do not ignore and act as they please, so that COVID-19 will infect the community more and more.

"Allah forbids anyone to do damage. Follow the example of the prophet who carried the mission and perfected noble morals, grace for the universe," he said.
