Demo Rejects Law To Create Work, Labor Brings Poetry Essays 'Death Of Conscience Of Representatives'

JAKARTA - A mass of workers from the Confederation of Indonesian Workers Unions (KSPI) carried wreaths of condolence during a demonstration against the Omnibus Law of the Job Creation Law in the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue area, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta.

This flower wreath is installed in front of the Indosat Ooredo building entrance in the Horse Statue area. Through these condolences, workers conveyed their criticism to the government and the DPR regarding the passage of the Job Creation Law which was passed on Monday, October 5.

"Please feel sorry for the death of the conscience and national spirit of the representatives of the people and the rulers," read a ribbon on the flower arrangement as seen by VOI, Monday, November 2.

This mourning wreath is also accompanied by other posters such as the rejection of low wages, the contract system, outsourcing, and the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Law.

"Workers are not victims of investment. Issue a Perppu immediately revoke the Omnibus Law," wrote one of the posters.

This wreath caught the attention of the demonstrating workers. Some were photographed in front of him using their cell phones.

In this demonstration, workers demanded the repeal of the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Law and an increase in the minimum wage by 2021.

In addition, KSPI President Said Iqbal and KSPSI President Andi Gani filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court (MK) so that they could cancel the law.

If their demands are not carried out in the future, the workers of these two organizations will be ready to carry out a national strike.

The current condition at the location of the labor demonstration centered on the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Central Jakarta, at 13.55 WIB, the protesters were still waiting for Said Iqbal and Andi Gani to return from the Constitutional Court.

Some of the workers were resting, while an orator from the command car asked the workers who were present to remain enthusiastic about carrying out the action today.
