Titiek Puspa Amazed By WR Soepratman's Songs

JAKARTA - Present at the concert titled The Launch of the Initial Album of WR Soepratman's Songs at the Sapta Pesona Building in Jakarta, Friday, November 10, Titiek Puspa clearly expressed his feelings when he first enjoyed the concert presentation featuring Ngadini Soepratini's great-grandson who is the older brother of WR Soepratman, Antea Putri Turk, with orchestral music accompaniment.

"My condolences to the honorable, greatest, Most Popular Mr. Wage Rudolf Soepratman. I was like 'deceived' by him because I speak in my heart that I am proud of him. I feel like I am embraced, Mr. 'come', I am very proud, and that may be my own feelings," said Titiek Puspa in a suspended voice.

He then continued that WR Soepratman was a warrior in the time when making a song was considered very trivial. But during the rolling era, all Indonesians are now always standing up and paying high respect when the anthem Indonesia Raya is played.

"Zaman itu, orang bisa membuat lagu itu kalau nggak orang gila, kedahan dewa, atau teman satu. Jadi, saya kalau mendengar lagu 'Indonesia Raya' badan dan semua darah saya seperti merah. Begitu, apa yang dia tulis dapat mempengaruhi jiwa olahradi musin dalam saya," tutur Titiek.

Furthermore, the 86-year-old singer then confirmed the use of WR Soepratman's "Rudolf" name to the maestro's extended family.

"Why use the name Rudolf? Wage is Javanese, Soepratman is Javanese, but why use Rudolf? He said that if you don't use Rudolf, you can't attend Dutch places. That's right? So, use Rudolf because you want to go to school in a good place. It's okay, sir. Now your school is the best there and respects, proud, our love for all Indonesians is for you," he added.

The "Launching Album of WR Soepratman's Songs" which has been approved as a national pride achievement and recorded as a MURI record specifically displaying Antea Putri Turk who performed 12 songs by WR Soepratman including the original version of "Indonesia Raya" 3 stanza, "From West to East", "Sun Terbit", "Free Volunteers", to "Mrs. Kartini".

"Thank you to all the families who want to do something until the songs that are translated can be collected again. Hopefully, all of that will be a song of pride for all of us. God always bless, pray for the One above, hug the one below. Amen," concluded Titiek Puspa.
