Andmesh Talks About The Regeneration Of Eastern Indonesian Male Soloists On The National Music Stage

JAKARTA - Throughout the modern Indonesian music industry, Eastern Indonesia has often contributed to legendary male soloists, namely Bob Tutupoly, Harvey Malaihiolo, Andre Hehanusa to Glenn Fredly.

Currently, Andmesh Kamaleng is one of the successful male soloists from Eastern Indonesia in the national music industry.

The songs were heard hundreds of millions of times on digital music and YouTube platforms, such as Love Extraordinary and Just Missing.

For Andmesh, being able to continue the work of male soloist from Eastern Indonesia is a responsibility in itself. He sees his current success cannot be separated from what his predecessor has done.

"If it's regeneration, maybe, it's an important responsibility for us," said Andmesh when met in Menteng, Central Jakarta some time ago.

"Why is it important for us? Why do we call it? Because there are so many talents from the east, we all actually just have to continue," he added.

Andmesh said that Eastern Indonesian singers in their generation had good stigma from listeners thanks to the success achieved by their predecessors.

"Because many of them are like Bob Tutupoly and Glenn Fredly who have paved the way for all of us. We just enjoy it," he said.

However, the man who was born in Alor, East Nusa Tenggara refused if he was referred to as a replacement for Glenn Fredly in the national music scene.

For Andmesh, Glenn Fredly and his predecessors will never be replaced in the hearts of the Indonesian people.

"But if it's a replacement, a replacement for Glenn, a replacement for Bob, no one will replace them. But if it's called regeneration, yes," concluded Andmesh Kamaleng.
