The honor for the late singer Sinead O'Connor appeared at the top of a cliff in Ireland, shortly before the singer's funeral convoy took place.

News that the singer and activist died broke out last month, July 26, after he was found unresponsive at his London home.

Sinead was declared dead at the scene, 56 years old.

The sad news comes one year after the death of his son Shane, who died of suicide.

So far, no cause of Sinead's death has been announced, although police have confirmed that the situation is not considered suspicious.

Now, a touching award for the artist is mounted on a cliff overlooking the town of Bray beach, which is just south of Dublin.

The message shows the words 'Eire', the Irish name for Ireland, and 'Sinéad' coupled with the heart.

This honor arrived just before the Sinead funeral convoy passed through the Irish city, where thousands of people gathered and marched on the street to pay tribute to the influential artist.

Details of his funeral were shared on Monday, and fans were invited to say "last goodbye" during a procession following a route along the seafront in Bray, County Wicklow, and past the 15-year residence of Sinead.

Tuesday morning, the convoy began at Harbor Bar at the end of Strand Road and will end with a private funeral ceremony.

The BBC reported that it also shared live footage of the procession of thousands of people walking behind Sinead's hearse, some throwing flowers, others lowering their heads.

The media also stated that the choir of its iconic hit Nothing Compares 2 U can be heard everywhere, while applause remain constant. The most crowded area is seen outside the former Sinead house, which is facing the sea.
