Prambanan Jazz Festival 2023 Day 1: Nadin Amizah Hypnotizes, Gemini Makes Heboh

YOGYAKARTA - The first day of the Prambanan Jazz Festival 2023, Friday, July 7, which was held at the Prambanan Temple Complex, was lively. Thousands of spectators who bridged this event were amazed by the performers.

Bilal Indrajaya, Pusakata, Nadin Amizah, Treeshome, Kahitna, and Tulus became a line of Indonesian musicians who appeared on the first day. Their actions really enlivened music lovers from various circles.

Especially for Nadin Amizah, this solo singer combines traditional Javanese elements in two legs, namely Sorai and Bertaut. Brought in front of Prambanan Temple, Nadin's collaboration with sinden plus gamelan which accompanied his action to add to the atmosphere of syahdu as well as hypnotized.

Meanwhile, from the ranks of foreign musicians, Lucky Chopras, Gemini, and Gipsy Kings by Andre Reyes were no less interesting. They were able to make the audience dance and sing together.

Gemini even received a special welcome from K-Pop music fans who were present. The British mulatto singer made her debut in 2020 and went viral on TikTok with the song Know Me.

This year's Prambanan Jazz Festival carries the theme 'Culture for the Future', which is presented with the concept 'The Magical Experience'. This theme departs from an important understanding, that culture is important for the future.

In all digital times, even works of art can be worked on by artificial intelligence (AI), culture can keep us from treading the earth and holding tightly on to our roots as humans.

An annual event that had'suffering' brought in international artists due to the pandemic three years ago, this year the Prambanan Jazz Festival 2023 immediately suspended with a number of international artists from various continents.

In addition to those who performed on the first day, there were still Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, Lukas Graham, Eric Benet, Faouzia, Vertical Horizon, Bond, Conor Maynard, Tunde (Voice of Lighthouse family), and Seafret which will appear in the following days.

The 2023 Prambanan Jazz Festival will be held for 6 days which is divided into two weeks. The first week is July 7-9, while the second week is July 14-16.
