JAKARTA - Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi is optimistic that a band will emerge from the City of Heroes, East Java, which can compete with legendary band groups such as Dewa 19, Padi and Jamrud.

"I am sure that from the Great Surabaya Music Festival yesterday (10/6) night there will be a band from the city of Surabaya that can compete with Dewa, Padi and Jamrud," said Eri Cahyadi as quoted by Antara, Monday.

According to him, the talented young talents Generation Z in the city of Surabaya never stopped. In fact, he continued, this shows that the city of Surabaya is the qibla of the art city.

"It turns out that this city has extraordinary talents, Gen Z if people say, there are junior high and high school schools that actually show their artistic spirit is extraordinary," said Cak Eri, his nickname.

Therefore, Mayor Eri views that the government and the community should provide space for them to realize their aspirations. Therefore, he believes, through the festival new talents will emerge from Surabaya.

As is known, the Great Surabaya Music Festival held by the Surabaya City Government together with Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Surya Sembada Surabaya aims to enliven the peak of the commemoration of the 730th Anniversary of the City of Surabaya (HJKS).

In addition to presenting the Ndarboy Genk star guest, this festival was also enlivened by the performances of a number of other musicians and artists, including Typhoon CS, KYD Band, dance, street performance to junior high and high school student band finalists for the Surabaya Mayor's Cup.

Cak Eri admitted that musician Ndarboy made himself and his wife, Rini Indriyani, dance on the stage of "Surabaya Great Music Festival" while singing a song called Mendung Tanpo Udan.

According to Cak Eri, his dancing action is a reflection that music does not see differences and is free to be enjoyed by all circles.
