BYD Sea Lion 07 Debuts At Guangzhou Auto Show 2023, Ready To Compete With Tesla Model Y

JAKARTA - The well-known electric car manufacturer from China, BYD, brought a new ev model at the Guangzhou Auto Show, which took place from November 17 to 26 at Canton Fair in Guangzhou.

Quoted from the Carnewschina page, Saturday, November 18, the auto giant who is ready to challenge Tesla introduced the Sea Lion 07 SUV which will complement the new lineup of Ocean.

Sea Lion 07 is a medium-sized SUV with a couple and sporty style, and comes with Oceanic Aesthetic BYD design which is based on e-Platform 3.0, and is equipped with CTB (CELL to Body) battery integration technology.

This means that the battery will be implanted into a body that can increase the volume of space by up to 10 mm.

The electric car that will compete with the Tesla Model Y has a length of 4,830 mm, a width of 1,925 mm, a height of 1,620 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,930 mm.

In addition, Sea Lion 07 will come in a variant of rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive, as well as iMITAC BYD technology with a smart body control control system called Disus-C, the technology includes Intelligent Damping Body Control System (Disus-C), Intelligent Air Body Control System (Disus-A), and Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System (Disus-P).

Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not disclose more details regarding the specifications, such as the distance to the price. However, it is estimated that the price of BYD Sea Lion is around US$27,600 or Rp425 million, cheaper than the Tesla Model Y in China, which is priced at Rp560 million.

"The Sea Lion product lineup will further expand Ocean BYD series products and strengthen the layout of this series in the high-value product segment," wrote BYD's statement, quoted from the ArenaEV page.
