Kia Carnival CKD 11-Seater Launches In Malaysia At A Higher Price Than The CBU Version

JAKARTA - In Malaysia, Kia Carnival is now available as a locally produced model (CKD) with a configuration of 11 seats in it. However, this car maintains the same quality as its imported version (CBU).

Reporting from Paultan, Wednesday, November 1, the exterior of this car is equipped with automatic headlights and DRL LED, as well as a distinctive large grip. Meanwhile, the side is equipped with Smart Power sliding doors and 18-inch rims equipped with 235/60R18 tires.

The cabin part is designed in such a way as for the convenience of motorists with black leather seats. This four-line MPV has a configuration of 2-3-3-3, with ISOFIX seats available on two outer seats in the second row.

The middle seat in the second and third row is equipped with a seat belt and can be folded to allow users to cross the cabin. The two front seats can be adjusted to eight-way power, while the driver seat has two-way waist support adjustment.

The driver's share is equipped with analog instruments combined with a 4.2-inch LCD TFT screen and a 12.3-inch touch infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The steering wheel is coated with skin and is equipped with various controls and multifunctional buttons.

In terms of safety, this MPV is equipped with seven airbags, as well as advanced active safety features such as collisional warnings at blind points and rear traffic avoidance assistance. Other safety features include ABS, EBD, brake assistance, electronic stability control, traction control, multi-collision brake control, hill start assistance, automatic retaining, automatic lock-up, and rear passenger warning.

Powered by a Smartstream 2.2 liter turbodiesel 4-cylinder engine immediately, Kia Carnival is able to generate up to 202 ps of power and 440 Nm of torque which is channeled to the front wheels through transmission of eight automatic accelerations.

Interestingly, although locally produced in Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia, Kia Carnival 11-SEATER has a higher price than the CBU version. The price reaches 215,228 ringgit or around Rp718.9 million. Meanwhile, the CBU version of Kia Carnival is sold for 198,500 ringgit or around Rp663.1 million.
