This Classic Ford Mustang Becomes An Electric Car, The Price Is Horrifying

JAKARTA - The transition of vehicles from fuel to electricity is getting faster. Not only new electric cars are widely circulated in the market, many also choose to turn their old car (ICE) into an electric car.

Alan Mann Racing (AMR), for example, managed to turn the 1965 Ford Mustang into an electric car with a slight change, as quoted from CarBuzz, Monday, October 30.

The conversion project was developed by a British team and is the company's first attempt at combining electric powertrains into combustion cars, in collaboration with North American partner Mann ePower Cars.

This car can cover a distance of 220 miles (354 km) with a maximum speed of 156 km/h. Powertrained by 300 hp, this car can reach acceleration of 0-100 km/hour in 5.2 seconds, showing reliable performance.

The charging time for this conversion car is only 40 minutes with DC fast charging for 20-80 percent charging.

AMR also made changes to chassis, including the integration of high-quality racing components developed by experienced Formula 1 designers. The regenerative braking system with a six-front piston and a four-side piston times replaces the original car braking system in the 60s.

The interior of the car has barely undergone any major changes to retain the classic impression, but each element has been updated to provide a touch of modern aesthetics, including the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Well, the initial price for this conversion starts at US$242,560 or around Rp3 billion and as a comparison of the latest electric car Ford Mustang Mach-E, the initial price is around US$42,995 or approximately Rp684 million. Interested in choosing which one?
