Volvo And Renault Collaborate To Create New Electric Vans, Starting Production 2026

JAKARTA- Renault Group and Volvo Group are working together to make the van all-electric to meet the increasing logistical needs every year.

Quoted from Renault Group's official website, Monday, October 9, a series of new all-electric and software vehicles will soon be introduced and production will begin in 2026.

Martin Lundstedt, President and CEO of Volvo Group, said he was excited about the move, and was going towards a sustainable transport solution.

"Volvo Group wants to continue offering complete transportation solutions to its customers that help them decarbonize their value chains. We see growing demand for clean, efficient, and secure urban transportation, and partnerships and collaborations are key to achieving this," he said.

In line with Martin, Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group, revealed that he is very proud of this collaboration, in order to pave the way for the LCV segment.

"Electrification and digitization paved the way for revolution in the LCV market. Renault Group intends to lead this transformation while ensuring the creation of strong and effective values. Currently, we are very proud to start a journey with Volvo Group to provide the best solution to customers," he said.

The electric vehicle plan will be built on a new electric LCV platform that will offer high modularity for various types. In addition, performance and reach and service come with high connectivity.

This collaborative electric vehicle will adopt the new Software Determined Vehicle architecture, this vehicle will have unprecedented capabilities. As a result, it can reduce global usage costs for logistics players by 30 percent.

Later, the service will be connected to software-defined vehicle technology. Van EV will also offer tremendous capacity for urban mobility.
