To Be Launched In The Near Future, Chery Leaks The Latest Omoda 5 Specification

Chery continues to be excited to make breakthroughs at the Indonesian automotive market. After launching Omoda 5 in various variants, the SUV family will have new members arriving in the near future.

PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) will introduce the latest variant as well as one of the highest in the Omoda 5. After previously hinting at the emergence of this model, Chery is now also leaking further specifications.

Rifkie Setiawan, as Head of Public Relations of PT CSI, said that this latest variant is equipped with a 1,600 cc Turbo engine with a Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) transmission which is optimized by its performance with an all-wheel drive system (AWD).

"Yes, it is true that the OMODA 5 variant will be equipped with 1.6 Turbo DCT and AWD," said Rifkie when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, September 19.

Speaking of design, the latest Omoda 5 has a design that is not much different from other types. However, the SUV will be displayed with a different front grip, according to Rifkie.

"The DNA is the same, it doesn't change significantly, both exterior and interior. Only a few items have changed like the front grip to distinguish the variant," concluded Rifkie.

With the presence of the latest variant of Omoda 5, Chery further affirms its commitment to providing a variety of high-quality options for customers.

Although Chery has not detailed the complete specifications, this new variant is expected to have a price of around IDR 480 million.

This latest variant of Omoda 5 will follow other types that have been presented in Indonesia, namely type Z and type RZ, with two choices of engines: 1.600 cc TGDI machines with 194 dk of power and 290 Nm of torque, as well as 1,500 TCI cc engines with 155 dk of power and 230 Nm of torque.

In addition to the gasoline variant, Chery has also introduced the Omoda 5 EV in the Indonesian market. This electric car is equipped with a 61 kWh battery which is capable of producing 221 dk of power. Omoda 5 EV is able to reach speeds of 0-100 km/h within 7.8 seconds and has a battery range of up to 450 km.
